Curating education at home

By supporting education initiatives outside of the classroom.

Why Schoolhouse by the Sea

One of the benefits of the internet is that there is an abundance of online resources and implementation ideas available. However, due to the vast quantity of materials being published online, it can be very difficult to curate the right materials for your educational needs. Used in tandem with the curriculum of your choice, our resources will deepen learning for the whole family! Our materials have been thoughtfully curated and developed by highly-trained and experienced educators to provide meaningful, experiential learning opportunities at home.

Curating education at home

Schoolhouse by the Sea is an educational resource center that publishes videos, articles, and other media for children and caring adults. Our materials are designed to supplement learning at home and to support homeschooling and distance learning initiatives. The bulk of our resources are developed with early childhood and elementary ages in mind, but many can be adapted for all learners.

Resources We Produce

Student Videos

The videos we produce for learners include: songs, rhymes, storytelling, routine builders, lessons, finger plays, craft and activity walkthroughs, book and game reviews, and so much more! We focus on creating videos that are developmentally appropriate, reinforce positive educational values, and inspire joyful learning!

Family and Educator Videos

Our complementary family and educator videos provide guidance on instruction implementation, recommendations, teaching methodology, and encouragement for those new to facilitating education at home. They are also intended to provide inspirations and resources to experienced educators.

Student Materials

Our student materials supplement the curriculum being administered by school or at home by reinforcing important concepts. We offer a variety of resources, including worksheets, crafts, and academic activity suggestions, as well as calendars, checklists, and inquiries. Through our curation, we're able to provide a holistic approach to learning that integrates art, music, language, creativity, and exploration, with curriculum that implements best practices and methodologies for ensuring a well-rounded home-based education.

Family and Educator Resources

We are here to help you facilitate great education by offering resources and insights. Our thoughtful development and curation process allows us to pass along leading educational framework concepts in an approachable way. By developing student and family content simultaneously, we're able to ensure the alignment of those two paths, so students stay on track while their caring adult has the required tools and information to support them.
