Stick It - Spelling Game

Materials

• Spelling list
• Sticks (collected from a nature walk or popsicle sticks)
• Other natural materials

Instructions

This is a great activity to do while out and about! You can do this on a hike, a walk, or during any outdoor activity. I would also recommend using outdoor time to gather supplies, then bringing them indoors. This activity can be a wonderful transition to bring you from outdoor time to focused study time.

1. Set up an area where you can form each letter.
2. Using sticks, carefully shape each letter to form the word.
3. After forming each word, see if you can find similarities between the letter shapes of the word you’ve formed and the next word on your list. Transform the word you made into the next one!
